Mission

Internationally recognised Neurodegeneration Section at University Hospital Mannheim / University of Heidelberg with particular focus on motor neuron diseases (especially familial and genetic forms). Acting Head of Division for Neurodegenerative Diseases: PD Dr. med. Julian Conrad. Prof. Dr. med. Jochen Weishaupt as senior clinician-researcher (also Ulm affiliate). Services: initial diagnosis and second opinion, stage-dependent aid evaluation and provision, genetic counselling and human genetic diagnostics (neurogenetics consultation hour), gene-specific therapy (Tofersen), nocturnal non-invasive blood gas analysis, NIV initiation and optimization, PEG placement via gastroenterology, socio-medical counselling.
